Prominent psychotherapist Andrea De Ott overcame the poverty and trauma she faced in Esmeraldas-Ecuador by utilizing Native American psyche-somatic techniques together with advanced Western psychotherapeutic modalities. This novel approach to psychotherapy not only liberated Andrea from her own complex trauma but gave her the tools necessary to help treat the most vulnerable in Ecuadorians. Her work with UNICEF and Ecuador’s “street” children further catalyzed her drive to bring holistic psychotherapy to those in need. Andrea started her education in the field of psychology at the age of 16, graduating as a Clinical Psychologist - Summa Cum Laude from the Universidad de Guayaquil at the age 22. Seeking a better life for herself and her child, Andrea left Ecuador for the United States in 2011 and started her career at Family Centers. Inc, teaching parenting education in group therapy settings. Andrea received an MSW from Fordham University in 2013 and entered the New York Academy of Medicine to continue her contribution to the field of social policy which included working with the United Nations. Andrea returned to Fordham University in 2019 and 2020 to teach advanced courses in psychotherapy. In 2019, Andrea opened her Systemic Psychotherapy group practice -to bring her multicultural holistic psychotherapeutic approach to Greenwich CT, located at 100 Melrose Avenue/ Humanly, suite 101 Andrea also started the systemic psychotherapy center in New York located at 420 Westchester Avenue, suites 2b and 2c, Port Chester, New York, 10573 Systemic Psychotherapy continues Andrea’s journey in advancing the cause of psychotherapeutic healing while bringing her novel brand of compassionate care to the people of Greenwich and Port Chester.
